WELCOME TO MY SITE!

I created this site to share my paintings and my thoughts with you.

Since my childhood I was interested in drawing and painting. I was encouraged to paint by my teacher Late W. R. Joshi, who taught me the elements of drawing and painting at high school level. I am grateful to him.

I began my career as a lecturer in Psychology in a Govt . College. After 3 or 4 years I left the job to become full time artist. I obtained Diploma in Drawing and Painting in 1967. I did research on " Depiction of Female figure in the sculptures and  paintings of Ajanta , Ellora, and Elephanta caves and got Ph.D. in 1979. I was also awarded senior fellowship in the Deccan College, Pune, a world known institute in the fields of Archaeology.

I have worked as a freelance illustrator for more than 40 years. I used to work Sunday supplements of News papers and also for magazines. My love for painting Watercolor landscapes is comparatively more recent one.

I love transparency, the glow and the speed of watercolors. I paint every day. For me it is Yoga. I like to paint roadscapes, mountains and temples and rural scenes.
